• Is It Useful ?

The quest for truth is unlikely to end. And, in many ways, the quest for truth has served us immensely. It has caused so much universal expansion. It has caused so much expansion in fact that it still serves us. Except when it doesn't.

Having the truth allows us to have cognitive closure. It makes order out of chaos, meaning out of meaninglessness. So what we tend to do as people is that once we arrive at what we consider a truth, we hold on to it for dear life. The problem is we don't realize that the most objective truth is that truth itself is subjective.

If I live in a project, my truth is that you have to work hard for money. This is definitely not the same truth for someone who is born into a trust fund. So what is the truth? Do people have to work hard for money or does money come easy?

When we have experiences, we have thoughts about those experiences and we make decisions based on those experiences. If we repeat those thoughts and those decisions enough, it becomes a belief. Once something becomes a belief, we begin to only see the world through that lens of that belief. We do not see a belief is not the same as an objective truth. A belief is in fact nothing more than a subjective truth, but like all things, beliefs are subject to the law of attraction. In other words, they begin to show up in our physical dimension as proof which then strengthens the belief, which then creates more proof, which then strengthens the belief, which then creates more proof, and so on and so forth until finally our belief has become a prison. A prison because we can't experience anything that is not a perfect vibrational match to that original belief.

To understand more about this, watch my video on YouTube titled "Meaning: The Self-Destruct Button".

We always act in accordance with the beliefs that we hold, so our speech mirrors the beliefs — our actions mirror the belief. And quite often, what we do in our everyday life is that we try to change our language or try to change our actions to no avail because the issues is the belief that is creating them. Now, it's awesome for beliefs to create your reality as long as your beliefs are positive and serve you — but what if those beliefs don't serve you at all?

We need to unroot and change these core beliefs that do not serve us if we want to live a happy life, but for the sake of today's episode, I'm going to share a shortcut with you. It's a shortcut which will enable you to maximize your life. It will enable you to streamline your life so that you're living the life you want to live and decidedly.

This shortcut is called the Is-It-Useful Tool. Imagine for the sake of this practice that there is no universal objective truth whatsoever. Imagine you're only going to make your decisions things to keep or things to discard from your life based on whether or not it actually serves you. The tenant of your day-to-day life is going to be : “Is it useful?” You're either going to keep or discard everything in your life such as beliefs, words or actions according to this question.

    For example:

    • Is it useful to believe that the universe is out to get you?
    • Is it useful to clip your nails?
    • Is it useful to say “I love you”?
    • Is it useful to belief I can do everything I put my mind to?
    • Is it useful to hit someone?
    • Is it useful in this circumstance to tell someone that they create their own reality?

And so on and so forth with everything and  anything you can think of.

In this exercise, there is no such a thing as an objective truth and this means there is no such thing as an answer to these questions that is right or wrong. Instead, you have to make a decision based on your own individual idea of what is correct for you or serving you in the very moment that you're standing in.

Keep in mind that what is useful today may not be useful tomorrow and what is not useful today may be useful tomorrow. Also keep in the mind that something that's useful to you may be useless to someone else and something that's useless for someone else may be useful to you.

Some species within our universe live their entire existence according to this tenant. This is the basis of their discernment and there is no attachment within them to objective truth. Like anything, living only according to this practice comes with a shadow side.

For example, we may decide that something isn't useful when in fact it is because our ego may use this practice to avoid anything that is uncomfortable to us like self-reflection. It is true that if beliefs are deeply rooted it may not be as easy as just deciding not to believe in something or deciding to let go of something because it isn't useful. If this is the case with you and you run into such a belief, don't get too concerned about it. Instead, I want you to apply the practices which I put forward in two of my YouTube videos, the first being "How To Find A Core Belief", the second being "How To Change A Belief". But for everything else, simply ask yourself if it useful. And if it is, keep it and if it isn't, discard it and put your focus elsewhere.

Any tool can do harm or good depending on how that particular tool is used and depending on the intent behind the user of that tool. But this particular tool is especially good when it comes to streamlining your life, clearing out the clutter and simplifying. So my suggestion is to try this tool out and as with everything, don't forget that there may be a time where the tool that is useful isn't useful.
