A view into the mist
Place des Vosges : “The night is falling on the swamps.
Our hair over our faces, a forever orangeing sun,
our eyes closed, our souls entranced as before.”
"7000 Danses", Indochine (1987)Rue des Francs Bourgeois : “And this could be my last chance
of saving my innocence — this could be my last chance,
no more keeping my feet on the ground.”
"No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground", Coldplay (1998)Hôtel de Sully : “Super collider, dust in a moment, particles scatter parting from the soup, swimming upstream before the heavens crack open.”
"Super Collider", Radiohead (2011)One of my favourite haunts in Paris is the Marais — a beautiful historic district where I went to university a few decades ago (in a former private townhouse located rue Charles V, just across the Bastille and converted into an annex of the University of Paris VII). The photos below were taken last February on a freezing cold day with a chilly wind blowing. I used a very basic digital camera and no touch up apart from a couple of filters to adjust contrasts and alter colours.
